Dream Painter
short / drama

This was my March entry at Moviepoet. Some people really liked it, some thought it was okay, one person said it was like an urban Burning Bridges. :-)

I will try to fix this one up some as soon as I have the time.

Do the Right Thing

by Pia

short / drama

This was my February entry at MoviePoet. The assignment was (V.O).

When I wrote this, I felt no connection to the story whatsoever. I was really surprised at people’s vote. Some called it excellent! I don’t think I see that myself, in fact I’m not even sure I wan’t to rewrite this one. Like I said, I feel no connection. Strange how everyone got such different tastes.

If you read this version, just realize that it’s a very rough first draft. Feel free to give me your thoughts on it. If and when I rewrite I will take your comments in consideration. :-)

This was my first entry to MoviePoet’s monthly 5 page script competition, “Two People in one Room”. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it came naturally to me after having recently witnessed first hand the effects on a family when one important family member is struck by Alzheimer.

I’m not 100% sure yet, but I might attempt to make this one my first short film. It would be easy and inexpensive and is fairly high on drama. I’ll keep you posted.

Mother’s Milk

Mother’s Milk

This is a very rough first draft. It was written in a hurry for the OWC at SS. The assignment was horror/ milk.

It needs a lot of rewriting since it leaves readers with lots of questions. Some of the action scenes need reworking as well since some people thought it bordered on comedic. Other than that it went over well.

This was also an entry to the OWC at SS. The assignment this time was sci-fi/popcorn.

I thought it was kind of a cute story and I had an Opie Taylor type kid in mind when I wrote it. This is the first draft. I will probably never rewrite this one since I’m pretty sure it’s not going to ever be filmed. I’ll just figure it was a good exercise. Guaranteed clean story though. ;-)

Another script written for the OWC. This time the assignment was comedy/telling your spouse you’ve lost your job. This was my first attempt ever at comedy and it might be my last too. If you should read it, I would really, really appreciate some feedback, even negative as long as you tell me why this or that does not work.
The feedback I got was positive, but I know several people read it and never commented, so who knows. It needs to be rewritten for sure. Right now it’s more like a sit-com than a short story. Not cinematic enough, I was told. Oh well…

Jordan Wiebe aka Flyboy asked me if I would be interested in writing a long/short for a horror anthology he was putting together with some other people.  He said it was to be a “GrindHouse” type thing called Buckets of Blood. I answered, sure no problem. Since I’m such a “cool” person I had to look up what Grindhouse meant. I know, I know….

Anyway, this is what I came up with. If you read it and think I’m totally demented afterwards, just know that I got it all from real news. I just toned it down some.

Helio J. Cordeiro asked me if I’d

be interested in writing a short for his “Cab’s Tale” series. I of course said yes and wrote this piece. It got mostly favorable reviews, one not so good via pm, but you can’t please everyone. I think it went well with the atmosphere that Helio had set for the series. As usual when I write something, there’s a woman who get’s even with men. I’m not sure why my stories tend to take these turns. I do love men. It’s the women I often have problems with. ;-)
